The Pipe Fitters' Local 597 Retirement Fund is designed to pay pensions to participants who have worked over the years as Local 597 members in the pipe fitting industry. As of December 31, 2007, the Retirement Fund had over $1.1 billion in assets and was paying Local 597 retirees and surviving spouses approximately $81 million per year in pensions. |
